Why “The Black Euro” Exists: A Platform for Black Voices and Experiences

In today’s world, there’s no shortage of platforms where voices can be heard. But despite the progress we’ve made, the experiences of Black people—especially in the context of business and public spaces—are still often marginalized or dismissed. The microaggressions, the discrimination, and the outright refusal of service based solely on the color of one’s skin are all too common. These issues aren’t always visible, but they are felt deeply.

That’s why I created The Black Euro. This platform is a space where Black voices can be heard, where shared experiences matter, and where we can actively fight for equality in business and public life. It’s a place where you can share your encounters—good and bad—at bars, nightclubs, restaurants, or any other establishment. It’s a place to ensure that your experience is acknowledged, that you’re not alone, and that change is possible.

The Problem We’re Addressing

In France, as in many other parts of the world, Black individuals face barriers that go beyond the obvious. It’s the microaggressions that sting, the judgmental looks, the assumptions made about your behavior or your worth, and the exclusion from spaces where others freely walk.

Whether it’s a refusal to enter a club or being treated unfairly at a restaurant, these experiences are deeply ingrained in the social fabric but rarely discussed. In many cases, we are told that “it’s just how things are”—that these biases are a natural part of life. But at The Black Euro, we’re challenging that notion. Every story matters, and every story deserves to be heard.

Why Now? Why Black Voices?

Now, more than ever, the world is waking up to the need for inclusivity, equality, and justice. But as we push for systemic change, we must ensure that Black voices—both individual and collective—are placed at the forefront. The power of storytelling, of creating spaces where our experiences are validated, can drive tangible change.

We live in a time where silence is no longer an option. Black voices are powerful tools for reshaping society. However, for these conversations to have lasting impact, we need platforms that elevate our voices in ways that are not only heard but acted upon.

The Black Euro is committed to amplifying the voices of those who have been silenced too long. It’s about providing a platform for you to share your experiences, rate businesses based on inclusivity, and actively shape the way these spaces evolve. By doing so, we ensure that those who serve us—whether through hospitality, retail, or any other business—are held accountable to the standards of respect, fairness, and equality that we deserve.

How This Platform Works

At The Black Euro, you’re invited to share your experiences with businesses. Whether it’s a positive review of a restaurant that made you feel at home or a story of discrimination that you want to shed light on, your experience matters. You can read others’ reviews, comment, and even contribute to a collective movement of change. Together, we can create a community that values Black voices in business, builds awareness of systemic inequality, and strives for an inclusive future.

But this platform is not just about sharing stories. It’s about creating action. By giving businesses direct feedback from those they serve, we can push for better practices, more diversity, and fairer treatment. It’s a way to not only report but to advocate, to connect, and to build a better tomorrow.

A Call to Action: Stand with Us

We are at the beginning of something important, and I invite you to join us. Share your stories. Read others’ experiences. Hold businesses accountable. Together, we can make the spaces we occupy better, more inclusive, and more welcoming for all Black people, worldwide.
